Sofia Donskaya

RESPONSIBILITIES
Sofia joined our team in Bulgaria in August of 2024. Her responsibilities include reviewing client files, monitoring transactions, and ensuring compliance with both internal policies and external regulatory standards. She enjoys the detail-oriented nature of the work, particularly the challenge of identifying risks and contributing to practical solutions.

FOCUS
As a Junior Compliance Monitoring Analyst, she supports the Risk & Compliance team in maintaining strong, consistent internal processes that align with the latest regulations.

EDUCATION
Sofia holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations and is currently pursuing an LL.M. at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski.” Her academic focus on law and international relations sparked a strong interest in how legal systems operate across borders and how this intersects with compliance and regulation, an interest that naturally led her to this field

WORK EXPERIENCE
Previously, Sofia gained experience at the EU Common Foreign and Security Policy Directorate (CFSP) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, where she contributed to policy analysis on EU sanctions and security. Her background also includes consulting for 180 Degrees Consulting, where she helped develop and implement successful fundraising strategies for nonprofit clients, and interning at the Sofia Municipality’s Directorate for Integration of People with Disabilities, where she assisted accessibility initiatives and administrative tasks.
