E-Commerce in The Netherlands Antilles
In 2001 new legislation for e-zones came into effect in The Netherlands Antilles. Its goal is to create a favorable environment for e-commerce activities based in The Netherlands Antilles. It provides an exemption from turn over taxes and import duties, whereas the profit tax rate is kept at 2% only. In order to comply with the legislation, the e-commerce companies must meet certain requirements and file for the official e zone status.
It offers an excellent opportunity to those using the world wide web for their international business transactions: whether selling downloads, physical products or services.
