As of March 2001, Curacao provides excellent opportunities concerning different kinds of (offshore) e-commerce activities. In March 2001 the New National Ordinance on the Economic Zones (“Landverordening Economische Zones”) has been in effect. Companies with a registered address in an economic zone, which meets the conditions of the Ordinance, are subject to profit tax at a rate of 2% whereas no import duties, turnover tax and property tax are applicable. Only companies with capital dividend in shares qualify for this establishment, this can be a Netherlands Antilles limited liability company (link toevoegen), but also a foreign company with its seat transferred from the Netherlands, see our services. This Ordinance is of specific importance to companies who wish to pursue (offshore) e-commerce activities like web-shops, software downloads, match making etc., since the activities of an e-zone company must be aimed at exporting goods or performing services for international customers which can be performed with or for electronic communication.
We can assist you with your ecommerce development plans and ecommerce strategy, for example by setting up a Netherlands Antilles limited liability company and/or provide responsible management for your company and help you acquire an e-zone license.
